The required prior work experience for the bidder includes specific roles such as Project Manager, Site Engineer, Plant Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, and Soil & Material Engineer, with corresponding educational qualifications and years of experience. For example, a Project Manager should have a B.E. in Civil Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience, while a Site Engineer should have a B.E. in Civil Engineering with 1 year of experience or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience. The bidder should have completed similar works in the last 5 years, with a value of at least 1/3 (one-third) of the DNIT value as a prime contractor, and at least 90% of the contract value satisfactorily completed. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. The bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The annual financial turnover amount should be at least 60% of the DNIT value up to Rs. 200 Lakh and 75% of the DNIT value for more than Rs. 200 Lakh, in any one year. The value of similar work should be at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which is not less than one third of the contract value. However, for unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, relaxation in qualification criteria is allowed, with a minimum annual financial turnover of 25% of the DNIT in any one year.
