The required prior work experience for the bidder includes work of a similar nature performed as a prime contractor over the last five years. The bidder should have completed a similar work with a value of at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which is not less than one-third of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder's annual financial turnover should be at least 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The quantities of work executed as a prime contractor of all main items of work should also be provided for the last five years. The value of similar work is specified as 1/3rd of the contract value. The bidder should have also satisfactorily completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value. The bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. A certificate of similar nature of work done, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge, is required. Additionally, a certificate of executed quantities of work done in the last 5 (five) years, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge, is also required. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level.
