The required prior work experience for the bidder includes work performed as prime Contractor or Sub-Contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed at least one similar work equal in value to one-third (one-fourth in case of Naxal / LWE affected districts) of the estimated cost of work (excluding maintenance cost for five years) for which the bid is invited. In terms of specific values and percentages, the bidder's average annual turnover should be at least 60% (50% in Naxal/Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) of the estimated cost of work, or Rs. 90.58 lacs, whichever is higher. The bidder's average annual turnover for the last five years should also be at least 75% (65% in Naxal/Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) of the amount put to bid, in case the amount put to bid is more than Rs. 200 lakhs. Additionally, the value of road work completed by the bidder in the originally stipulated period of completion shall be counted as 120% for the purpose of calculating the bidder's total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited. The bidder's financial turnover achieved on account of execution of road works under PMGSY shall also be counted as 120% for the same purpose. The bidder is allowed to subcontract components of the works for construction/up-gradation, aggregating to not more than 25 percent of the Contract Price. The bid security amount is Rs.5.43 Lacs, which is 2 percent of the estimated value of the Works. Joint Ventures are allowed for package size exceeding Rs. 10 crore.
