The bidder is required to have prior work experience in civil engineering construction works, specifically in works of a similar nature and size for each of the last five years. The total monetary value of civil construction work performed for each of the last five years should be provided. The bidder should have completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work as indicated, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. There is also a relaxation in qualification criteria for unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, where the minimum annual financial turnover requirement is reduced to 25% of the DNIT in any one year, and exemption from single similar nature of work performed as a prime contractor. The bidder should have a minimum annual financial turnover of 25% of the estimated cost of the package, with the cost of completed works of previous years given a weightage of 10% per year to bring them to the present price level. The bidder should also have experience in performing a single similar nature of work as a prime contractor, with a value of the contract and percentage of completion as mentioned in the qualification information. However, specific values and percentages for similar works are mentioned in some cases, such as 1/3 of the DNIT value, 90% completion rate, 40% of the estimated quantity, 60% and 75% of the DNIT value, 25% of the estimated cost, and 10% weightage for previous years.
