The bidder should have prior work experience in works of a similar nature and size. The bidder should have completed works of a similar nature in the last 5 years, with a value of at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work. The bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The value of similar work should be at least one third of the contract value, and the bidder should have a minimum annual financial turnover of 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value. A certificate of similar nature of work done, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge, is required, and the bidder should have evidence of access to or availability of credit facilities, which is at least 10% of the notified contract value. The bidder should invest a minimum cash up to 25% of the value of the work during implementation of the Contract. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. The bidder's available bid capacity should be more than the total bid value, calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the year indicated in the appendix. The assessed available bid capacity is calculated as (A*N*2-B), where A is the maximum value of civil engineering works executed, N is the number of years prescribed for completion of the works, and B is the value of existing commitments and ongoing works.
