The required prior work experience for the bidder varies based on the cost of the works. For works costing over Rs 300 lakhs, the bidder should have at least 5 years of practical experience for Degree holders in Engineering and at least 8 years of practical experience for Diploma holders in Engineering. For works costing between Rs 100 lakhs and Rs 300 lakhs, the bidder should have at least 4 years of practical experience. For works costing between Rs 60 lakhs and Rs 100 lakhs: A Degree holder in Engineering with at least 3 years of practical experience, or one diploma holder in Engineering with at least 5 years of practical experience. For works costing between Rs 7.5 lakhs and Rs 60 lakhs: A Degree holder in Engineering with at least 2 years of practical experience, or one diploma holder in Engineering with at least 4 years of practical experience. For works costing between Rs 2 lakhs & Rs 7.5 lakhs, a Degree or Diploma holder in Engineering from a Government recognised Institution and adequate practical Experience of work is required. For works costing up to Rs 2 lakhs, a competent person with adequate practical experience of works is required. The value and percentage of similar works completed are not explicitly mentioned, but bidders who are one class below the eligible class may also bid if they have previously completed similar works satisfactorily and meet the criteria of upgradation in respect of past experience of completed works and financial soundness. The bidder's present residual work in hand should not be more than five times their present tendering limit.
