The required prior work experience for the bidder is related to the execution of civil engineering works. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed, as a prime contractor, one similar work of value not less than 80% of the estimated cost of work, or two similar works each of value not less than 50% of the estimated cost of work, or three similar works each of value not less than 40% of the estimated cost of work, in the last five years ending the last day of the month previous to the one in which bids are invited. For Sub-Contractors, if they are to be used for critical components of the works or for work contents in excess of 10 percent of the value of the whole works, the bidder must provide the Sub-Contractor's details. The bidder's experience includes details of experience as a Prime Contractor, in a Joint Venture, and as a Sub-Contractor, with specific information on the number of years of experience in own country and other countries. The bidder must also provide details of similar works completed, including the value and percentage of such works. Additionally, for works above Rs. 5.00 Crores, the bidder is required to submit a list of similar works completed during previous years, duly supported with performance certificates from the authority for whom the work has been completed. The bidder is also required to have an available bid capacity, calculated as per the given formula, which is more than the estimated value of the project/work. The bidder must submit evidence of access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources facilities, certified by the bankers, which should be at least 10% of the contract value. The bidder is required to submit an undertaking that the bidder will be able to invest a minimum cash of up to 25% of the contract value of work during implementation.
