The bid capacity required in the given tender is calculated using the formula: Assessed Available Bid Capacity = (A * N * 2) - B Where: A = Maximum value of Civil Engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years (updated to the current price level) B = Value of current price level of the existing commitments & ongoing works to be completed during the next years N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which the bids are invited (for work completion period less than one year, the value may be taken as one) Additionally, the bid capacity required is also mentioned in terms of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) and Bid Cost, with EMD required being Rs. 10,000.00 for each bid, and the Bid Cost varying for each work, ranging from Rs. 3,45,000.00 to Rs. 7,17,000.00. The total bid capacity required can also be calculated as the sum of EMD and initial security, with the initial security being a percentage (2% or 3%) of the cost of the work. For example, for a work with an estimated cost of Rs. 10,84,000.00, the initial security can be calculated as: Initial Security = (2% of 10,84,000) - 10,000 = 21,680 - 10,000 = 11,680 So, the total bid capacity required for this work would be: Total Bid Capacity = EMD + Initial Security = 10,000 + 11,680 = 21,680 Formulas for price adjustments due to changes in the rates of cement, steel, and bitumen are also provided: - Vc = 0.85xPc/100xRx(C1-C0)/C0 for cement - Vs = 0.85xPs/100xRx(S1-S0)/S0 for steel - Vb = 0.85xPb/100xRx(B1-B0)/B0 for bitumen And also for pipe and labor: Vs= 0.85xPs/100xRx(S1-S0)/S0 Vb= 0.85xPb/100xRx(B1-B0)/B0 Vpi= 0.85xPpi/100xRx(P11-P10)/P10 VL= 0.85xP1/100xRx(L1-L0)/ L0 These formulas are used to calculate the increase or decrease in the cost of work due to changes in the rates of these components.
