Supply, Laying and testing of FRLS, XLPE insulated, PVC sheathed, galvanised steel strip or wire armoured electric power cable 1100 Volts grade with stranded copper conductor of size 1.5 sqmm 2 core, laid in trench or fixed to wall/passing through pipe/pole incl necessary thimbles, jointing and testing complete all as specified and directed. (Note :- Necessary earth work to be measured and paid separately.

Excavating in Trenches, not exc. 1.50 Metre Wide and Depth not exc. 1.50 Metre for taking out/up and laying of Water Main /Pipe, etc., Forming Surfaces to required Foundation, etc. and getting out as in Soft/Loose Soil, complete all as specified and as directed.

Returning, Filling in including Spreading, Levelling, Watering, Well Ramming in Layers not exc. 25 Cm, Surplus Soil providing in Heaps along the Route of the Pipe Line in Soft/Loose Soil, complete all as specified and as directed.

Removing excavated material n exc. 50m and depositing where directed at a level n exc. 1.5 m above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply & Laying HDPE pipes, conforming to IS-4984, 40 mm OD, PN 10 with all fittings, laid in trenches for protection of cable complete all as specified and as directed

Material and Labour for earthing complete with galvanized steel earth plate electrode 600 mm x 600 mm x 6.0 mm thick buried directly in ground vertically to a depth not less than 2.25 meter deep below ground level with top edge earth plate at a depth not less than 1.5M below normal ground level connected to galvanized steel earth wire 4 mm dia (up to 7.5 metres) by means of bolts, nuts check nuts and washers of galvanized steel and connected to main switch board or main control board as directed and including provision of concrete pit in PCC (1:3:6) type C1, pre-cast RCC (1:2:4) type B1 cover slab 45 cm x 45 cm x 5 cm reinforced with 8 mm dia. TMT bars @ 150 mm centre to centre both ways, with one handle for lifting made out of 8 mm dia MS bar, provision of funnel, wire mesh, 20 mm bore galvanized steel tubing (Medium grade) for watering, charcoal or coke and salt in alternate layers, 40 mm bore galvanized steel tubing medium grade for protection of earth lead connection, necessary excavation and earth work in any type of soil and including necessary testing complete all as shown in Figure 15A of IS 3043 :1987, complete all as specified and directed.

GENERAL NOTES FOR THE WHOLE WORK:- (1) The Contractor shall employ the services of the designated Fire Alarm Specialist Supplier for the design, supply and commissioning of the fire alarm system. It shall consist of fire alarm sounders, break-glass units, heat and smoke detectors and control units. (2) After commencement of work, the contractor shall be provided with layout plan of the designated building. The Fire Alarm Specialist Supplier shall supply and install a fire zone chart showing plans of the building with all fire alarm control and indicating equipment clearly indicated. Each fire compartment/zone shall be easily identified by means of clearly marked colour codes. The fire zone chart shall be as a minimum sized A3, coloured and suitably framed to be handed over on completion of the works. (3) The Contractor shall arrange for the complete commissioning of the fire alarm system by the specialist fire alarm supplier. (4) The whole of the fire alarm installation should be inspected, tested and commissioned in accordance with clause 26 of BS 5839 part 1 and as further described. Commissioning shall be carried out in accordance with Clause 26.5 of BS 5839 part 1 which shall include:- (i) An audibility test of the alarm devices. Audibility level readings shall be taken in each room. Any sound levels found to be lower than 65 dba shall be reported to the Engineer-in-charge in writing. (ii) All trigger devices i.e. manual call points, heat and smoke detectors shall be tested for correct operation, (iii) A mains failure test shall be carried out to verify correct operation of the backup battery system. (5) Prior to commissioning, the Contractor shall provide a certificate of installation and cable test certificates of the system to the EIC. contd.....

(6) After commissioning of the fire alarm system, the contractor shall get the fire alarm system inspected and certified from State Government Fire Inspector under his own arrangement. Completion certificate shall be issued by GE only after satisfactory certification by Fire Inspector. (7) The provisions/requirements mentioned here-in-before are in brief and shall be read in conjunction with particular specifications provided in this tender, relevant paras of SSR Part-I, 2009 and Indian Standards. The contractor is liable to complete the work as per latest guidelines of fire safety issued by Central/State Government. Rates quoted by the contractor shall be deemed to be inclusive of all the above aspects. No claims, whatsoever shall be admissible during currency of work. (8). Around 948 RM of 40mm OD HDPE pipe has been laid by the previous contractor under BOQ Item No 20 and is available on site. Requisite items for excavation in trenches and partial returning filling has also been carried out. These quantities have not been considered in BOQ. The contractor shall utiliste the ibid items and complete the work in totality keeping in consideration the above aspect. He may, also visit the site with prior permission of AGE E/M (AF) Sirsa during office hours. No claim shall be entertained during currency of work.
