The bid capacity required can be calculated using the given formula: B = (A + C) / N Where:
B = Bid Capacity
A = The amount of ongoing works (updated to the price level of the year indicated in the table)
C = The amount of bonus received, if any, in EPC Projects during the last 5 years (updated to the price level of the year indicated in the table)
N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which the bids are invited. To calculate the value of “A” and “C”, the tables containing value of all the existing commitments and on-going works to be completed during the next year, and amount of bonus received, if any, in EPC Projects during the last 5 years should be used. The balance value of work to be completed is calculated as: Balance value of work to be completed = Value of contract as per Agreement/LOA - Value of work completed Then, the balance value of work to be completed is updated using the Updation Factor, which is:
1.00 for Year 1, 1.05 for Year 2, 1.10 for Year 3, 1.15 for Year 4, 1.20 for Year 5 The updated balance value of work is calculated as: Updated balance value of work = Construction period as per Agreement/LOA x Balance value of work to be completed x Updation Factor. The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in civil construction/highway electrical works as a prime contractor, partner in a joint venture, or sub-contractor. The bidder should have successfully completed or substantially completed within the last five years a similar work with specific cost requirements. The cost requirements are as follows:
- One similar completed work costing not less than 80% of the estimated cost, which is equivalent to Rs. 261.47 lacs.
- Alternatively, two similar completed works costing not less than 50% of the estimated cost (Rs. 163.42 lacs) each.
- Another option is three similar completed works costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost (Rs. 130.74 lacs) each. The similar work experience should be in Operation & Maintenance/Construction of 2/4/6 lane Expressways/National Highways/State Highways/Smart Cities, including work related to lighting on Expressways/Highways/Smart Cities. Substantially completed works mean those that are at least 90% completed as on the date of submission.
