The required prior work experience for the bidder includes work of a similar nature performed as a prime contractor over the last five years. The bidder should have completed a similar work with a value of at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which is not less than one-third of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder's annual financial turnover should be at least 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The bidder should also have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The completion rate of similar work should be not less than 90% of the contract value. The bidder should provide a certificate of similar nature of work done, completed in the last 5 years, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge, and a certificate of executed quantities of work done in the last 5 years, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level.
