The required prior work experience for the bidder includes work of a similar nature and size. The bidder should have completed works of a similar nature with a value of at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which is not less than one-third of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder's annual financial turnover should be at least 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. The bidder is also required to have prior work experience in works of a similar nature done, completed in the last 5 years, with a certificate of similar nature of work done issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge. A certificate of executed quantities of work done in the last 5 years is also required. The bidder should have completed a single similar work/quantity executed in a particular year. The value of similar work and the annual financial turnover are subject to certain conditions and calculations, including an escalation factor for the cost of works executed in previous financial years. A minimum requirement of 10% of the notified contract value for access to or availability of credit facilities is also specified, along with the bidder's financial turnover for the last five years. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value.
