9) For all standards and code of practices, specifications, like Indian Standard, MORT&H, ASTM, etc. refer only latest revisions including all applicable amendments, revisions and additional publications (during contract period) and these have to be followed. 10)Prior approval for source of all construction materials by submission of relavent test certificates, documents, invoices etc. have to be taken from BARC. 11) All the tests mentioned in Quality Assurance Plan(QAP) should be carried out without any extra cost. 12) The contractor has to submit all royalty /seigneiorage slips,etc for all the naturally available construction materials before submitting the RA bills.

INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS

Note: The rates in respect of filling items is applicable for the net quantities arrived as per the actual difference in levels jointly taken by the department and the contractor after compaction of the earth as mentioned in the item description.

Filling of areas around the builldings With a lead upto 200 metres wherever specified with approved quality murrum/gravel brought from within the campus with all type of soils including boulders including exacavtion at source with hydraulic excavator at all levels, filling with same excavated soil including loading,Transporting, unloading to embankment site with following lead, spreading in layers of 250 mm each and compacting each layer with 3 tonne power capacity vibratory power roller to achive 90% proctor density, making suitable temporary approach road for the movement of excavator,tipper,dumper and other equipments,dewatering if required all as per drawings,specifications and as directed by the Engineer-In-charge.

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting hand broken/ crushed stone aggregate under floors also, of required thickness Wet Mix Macadam including premixing of material with water in mixing plant for Wet Mix Macadam, carriage of mixed material by tipers to the site and laying material in uniform thickness under floors etc., and laying by mechanical paver including rolling with road roller 8 to 10 tonne capacity in stages to proper grade and camber spreading and brooming etc. complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge (Compacted thickness only will be measured and paid for.)

EARTHWORKS

Notes applicable to EARTHWORK EXCAVATION & FILLING WORKS : The rate quoted for earthwork excavation is deemed to have included the following: a) removal of all kinds of vegetation, small shrubs, light/heavy jungle etc., trees upto girth of 30 cm when measured 1 metre above ground level alongwith roots, including disposal/stack in the identified location. b) shoring, strutting, stepping, dressing, grading required for keeping the earth in position on sides of trenches with approved timber/steel accessories wherever necessary to prevent sides from falling including bailing or pumping out of water if necessary including removal of debris/unserviceable materials and excavated excess soil, if any. c) dewatering of both ground and surface water, including removal of slurry generated while excavation and keeping the area free from water, to be let out of the building area through proper pipes & channels if required by suitable pumps, d) watering, ramming and thoroughly consolidate the bottom of all excavations & ground before the construction of foundation/footing/plinth beam, filling in basement or other work is commenced.

e) the loose pockets shall be excavated and compacted after back filling as directed by Engineer-in-charge, as per detailed specification and conforming to safety rules during progress of the work. f) Contour levels to be taken jointly with the Engineer-in-charge and prior written approval be taken before starting any excavation/ filling at every 3 m grids for arriving at the actual quantity, g) Backfilling will be done in layers of thickness as specified below. h) Cost inclusive of necessary royalties, seigneiorage charges and other charges to supply all the required construction materials, i) cost of items shall include all labour charges, hire charges of machinery, lubricants, fuels and tests etc. j) Measurement/Payment will be reststicted to PCC/drawing dimensions only.

Earth work excavation in following depths by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) / manual means in foundation, in all types of soil other than soft and hard rock, dressing the sides of foundation, ramming of bottom of foundations etc. including shoring, strutting and dewatering and refilling around foundations and plinth with selected excavated earth in layers as specified below, each layer well rammed and consolidated including disposing the surplus earth within a distance of 200 m all complete all as per drawing, technical specifications, and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

From 0.00m to 1.50m below average GL with refilling of excavated earth in layers of not more than 250mm each layer

From 1.5m to 3.0m below average GL with refilling of excavated earth in layers of not more than 250mm each layer

PCC & RCC WORKS

Note: 1) Rates quoted for PCC & RCC items shall include cost of sieved river sand/ crushed stone sand as fine aggregate and graded hard broken granite metal of 3 stage (VSI) material as a coarse aggregate. 2) The mix shall be desiged to maintain the desired slump (as required at site/specified in IS code). In view of limit on water-cement ratio for durability requirements in design mix concrete, admixtures can be used after taking prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge and the rates quoted for the items shall be inclusive of the cost of admixtures, trial mixes, testing (at site & at approved labs), etc. complete. 3) The contractor shall set up fully automatic batching plant/sufficient number of Self loading mobile concrete mixers inside the project area for the manufacture of concrete. 4) Contractor may also be allowed to procure concrete from prior approved RMC plants on prior approval of the BARC subject to maintain required slump at site during pouring.To that extent suitable Mix Design should be carried out with required retention period. 5) The rate of concrete shall include all labour, equipment, charges for mixing & cost of admixtures. 6) Test certificate of cement, procured from dealer/company has to be submitted for all concrete works by the contractor. 7) Rate quoted for RCC items shall include cost of relevant design mix and testings.

8) This item is applicable for all PCC and RCC structural elements like footings, beams, columns, slabs, lintels, chajjas, walls etc., for all heights and leads. 9) Only steel scaffolding, staging, supporting system to the formwork and steel frame work will have to be used for all RCC structural elements. 10) All surfaces adjacent to EPs, etc., shall be in true line and level & irregularities, if any, shall be rounded by mechanical grinding, chiseling, finishing the same using epoxy silica sand mortar at no extra payment. 11) Form finish F3 shall be provided to all exposed surfaces of the concrete.

Providing and laying in plain cement concrete of 1:3:6 (1 cement, 3 river Coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand, 6 graded stone aggregate of maximum size 20 mm) at all elevations including consolidation, finishing curing etc. complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge but excluding the cost of form work shuttering, centering all as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and laying design mix Reinforced cement concrete of M30 Grade by weigh batching using graded stone aggregate of 20mm max. size and coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand of approved quality including admixtures of approved Brand and quality, including handling & transportation, scaffolding, mechanical mixing, placing to required location by hoisting and / or pumping & mechanical vibration, consolidation, finishing, curing, hacking of concrete surfaces wherever required etc. complete at all levels in substructure/superstructure as per specifications & also including dewatering, if any, complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge but excluding formwork, shuttering and steel reinforcement. Note: 1. Temparature raised due to heat of hydration shall be kept within limits in raft/mass concrete by keeping proper curing mechanism. 2. Item rate includes the cost of keeping pockets in concrete pedestals up to a plan area of 0.10 Sqm. As per mode of measurements (IS 1200_2), no deduction will be made for openings of plan area below 0.10 Sqm.

Reinforcement and Strutural Steel

Notes: 1) 1.2mm dia annealed GI coated (20 micron to 40 micron) binding wire required for the work will have to be supplied by the contractor at their own cost and will not be measured for payment. 2) Fe-500D / Fe-500EQR bars as per IS to be supplied by the contractor. 3) Reinforcement bars from conversion agents / re-rollers of above manufacturers, will not be accepted. 4) No extra payment will be made on account of Rolling Margin & wastage. 5) Contractor shall supply copy of the documentry evidence of purchase of steel, test certificate from these manufacturers and also test from third party to be carried out at no extra cost.

Providing Reinforcement steel of all diameters for reinforced cement concrete at all levels. including supplying, preparation of bar bending schedules, cutting, bending, transporting to all elevations, placing and keeping in positions, all leads, fixing, tieing with 1.2 mm dia annealed GI coated (20 micron to 40 micron) binding wire including all labour charges, cost of cover blocks (in same grade of concrete) of various thicknesses and sizes etc. all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Using TMT Bars of Specified Grades of all sizes. TMT bars to be supplied by the contractor of grade - Fe 500D / Fe-500EQR.

Providing Structural steel work using angles, channels, joists and other sections, welded and / or bolted including in built up sections for grating work, columns, beams, trusses, structural steel floors, frame works, monorails,window grills and other structures including supplying, cutting, drilling, welding, fabricating, hoisting, fixing in position using clips, applying a priming coat of zinc chromate steel primer at all heights. Complete all as per drawings and Technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge Note: 1) Structural steel required for the work shall not be supplied by the Department. 2) Structural steel confirming to IS 2062 shall be supplied from their own plants rolled from virgin materials to be procured directly or from their authorised dealers and test cerificate to be produced. 3) The contractor shall supply documentary evidence of purchase of steel, Test certificate from approved manufacturers and also third party testing from approved laboratories with out any extra cost. 4) Welding weights, connections, bolts,clips and nuts shall not be measured for payment but the cost of which shall be deemed to have been included in the rates. 5) Welding Electrodes of specified suitable grade only shall be used. 6) Holes to be drilled only by Drilling machines and gas cutting of holes are not permitted. 7) Cost of the fixing Clips shall be measured in weight and paid as per the item rate.

Up to and including 300 mm Joists, 350 mm channels and below sections. All test reports to be provided along with the supply of the materials.

Supply, fabrication, and fixing in position the MS embedded parts weighing not more than 100 Kg in RCC / Masonry/ Form work at all heights. Cost includung transporting, aligning, fixing in position, etc. complete all as per drawings and Technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. All necessary test reports are to be provided along with the supply of the materials.

Providing, supplying, cutting, welding, fabricating, hoisting and fixing in position structural steel members for railing, pergolas, gates etc. using MS hollow circular / square / rectangular sections along with the associated connections including grit blasting and applying a coat of primer using redoxide all as per Technical specifications, drawings, complete all as per drawings and specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing and fixing hand rail using 304 grade Stainless Steel pipes or any other shape of approved size and quality by TIG welding, mirror / matt polishing, fixing at site etc. for balcony railing & staircases railing including special sections as per drawings, specifications. A sample to be fabricated and to be got approved by the Engineer-in-Charge before starting of work at site. This work to be executed through approved qualified welder etc., complete as per specifications all complete as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (Cost including all materials and labour)

MASONRY WORKS

Providing and constructing 100/150/200/230mm (or as directed) thick masonry at all elevations with approved quality Fly ash/ FAL-G bricks (confirming to IS 12894) having minimum crushing strength 60 Kgs/Sq.cm and water absorption of maximum 20%, in cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 river sand/ crushed stone sand) uniformly mixed in machine with approved 'non-shrinking compound' as per manufacturer’s instruction in specified courses of approved bond also providing horizonatal RCC band of 100/150/200mm x 100 mm (or as directed) at about 1.00 m c/c with 2 nos. 8 mm dia Tor bars and 6 mm dia links at 300 mm c/c in cement concrete (1:2:4), required formwork, complete including pointing, raking out joints, curing, cleaning, including independent double legged scaffolding, at all heights, depths and leads, dewatering area where required etc., all as per typical drawings, Technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. Note for flyash bricks: In the fly ash bricks the mix confirming to the strength mentioned in the respective items shall be got approved by the department. The mix shall consist of ordinary portland cement content of required % of the mixture consisting of Fly ash, OPC and Gypsum or any variation in proportion of design mix to obtain specified mix shall be submitted to BARC for approval. The Anhydraous Gypsum, Fly Ash, Cement, Crusher dust and other materials shall confirm to the the relevant IS codes. The Anhydrous Gypsum shall be procured from a reputed source in Cuddlore in Tamilnadu approved by the department, from TANFAC industries, Cuddlore, Tamilnadu. Roller mixer shall be used for good homogeneous mixing. Note : a) Reinforcement will be measured & paid for separately under relevant item. b) RCC band and formwork shall not be measured seperatly, however no deductions will be made in brickwork for the same. c) No holes in brickwall will be allowed for scaffolding. Only double tubular steel scaffolding be allowed.

PLASTERING WORKS

Providing 15 mm thick Plain Internal Plastering in cement mortar 1:4 (using river sand) finished smooth, including sieving of sand to required fineness, preparation of the surface, double steel tubular scaffolding, curing, formation of grooves at dissimilar material junctions (beams and columns) all as per specifications, drawings and as directed at site etc. complete all as per Technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing 20 mm thick External plastering in two coats under layer 12 mm thick with cement mortar 1:4 (using river sand) finished with a top layer 8 mm thick in cement mortar 1:3 (using river sand) admixtured with Water proofing admixture @ 2% by weight of cement used (in both layers) and as per manufacturer's specifications, sieving of sand to required fineness, double tubular steel scaffolding, finishing, curing, formation of grooves at dissimilar material junctions (beams and columns) etc. complete all as per Technical specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

FLOORING WORKS

Notes: The contractor shall submit all samples to the department for approval and no work shall commence before such samples are duly approved.

Providing and laying 50mm thick cement concrete Vaccum Dewatering flooring (VDF) with cement conrete M30 grade in panels of required size finished smooth as per manufacturers specification for enhanced strength . This includes cost of cement slurry, vaccum dewatering, floating/ trowelling with trowel finishing to the required level finishing and cleaning neatly while handling over the areas etc., but excluding cost of grooves & sealant filling complete all as per technical specificationa and as directed by engineer In Charge

Making of 5 mm*15 mm size grooves in the VDF flooring / in RCC using machine having diamond cutting wheels and filling the groove using Fosroc Colpar 200 or equivalent, as per the manufacturer specifications. The cost includes all charges for the labour, machinery, materials, tools for cleaning, primer before application of sealant, lapping tape, sealant, water, electricity etc. complete as directed by the Engineer-in -charge.

Providing, laying and fixing in position 17mm thick mirror polished approved quality granite stone over and including 12mm thick cement mortar ( 1 cement : 3 coarse sand) backing, machine cut and machine polished (mirror polish) jet black Granite/ equivalent approved range and shade granite stone of approved colour and pattern in flooring/skirting/cladding/ treads/ risers/ cills etc. at all location including necessary mortar bedding /backing close jointed and grouted with matching cement slurry and finished to line, level, etc, as required including cutting of stone slabs , wastage, making cutouts, required pattern in plain ,curved or any geometric shape, rounded/chamfered and design, including providing of 6mmx6mm-2Nos grooves to the tread, wherever required all as per the Engineer in charge.

JOINERY & METAL WORK

Providing and fixing fully flush type Hollow metal Steel door including frame and shutter at all levels. 46 mm thick Pressed Galvanized steel conforming to IS 277, Single / Double / Triple leaved which consists of frame, shutter, infill and finish as detailed below : Door frame shall be single rebate profile of size 100 x 57 mm with bending radius of 1.2 mm having 1.20 mm thick galvanized steel sheet (18 gauge). Steel door shutter of 46 mm thick, fully flush, double skin door shall be manufactured from 0.80 mm thick galvanized steel sheet of minimum 1hr fire rating. The stile edges to be lock seamed with no weld marks. The infill material shall be resin bonded honey comb Kraft paper with thermal insulation. Door frames and shutter shall be finished with etched primer coating, stoved zinc phosphate primer (35 microns DFT) and thermosetting polyurethane aliphtic grade paint (35 micron DFT) of approved colour. Rate shall include for supply and fix 3 mm thick base plates, all joints of frames with provision for anchor bolt fixing to wall / RCC surface, reinforcement pad for fixing of door closers, factory finish, provision for slots for mortise locks, for pre-punched cut outs to receive hardwares and iron mongery, 3 mm thick hinge plates predrilled to receive hinges for screw mounted fixing all as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Notes : Rate shall also include for grouting the frame with cement at the joints between wall & frame to the required thickness as per manufacture’s specifications. (Wherever steel louvers are provided on the door, the corresponding area of steel louvers area will be deducted from the measurement of hollow metal steel door area. The aluminium louvers shall be paid under seperate item in the schedule.)

Providing and fixing 40 / 42 mm thick Aluminium Flush Door Shutter consisting of 2 mm thick colour anodized Aluminium Sheets (15 micron), 37 mm wide Aluminium frame work inside filled with glass wool 50 mm thick compressed to 37 mm including cost of all furniture fittings, 4 Nos SS Heavy duty hinges of size 125 mm with SS Screws, Godrej make 6 lever mortise lock with handles, 1 No 250 X 12 mm long Aluminium tower bolt including vision panel with glass as per drawings complete manufactured by approved manufacturer complete as per approved fabrication drawings as directed by the Engineer-in-charge

Providing and fixing Stainless steel double ball bearing butt hinges of size 100 x 75 x 3 mm thick for hollow steel door. complete as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (For hollow metal doors & fire doors indicated in the schedule elsewhere)

Providing and fixing pair of Stainless Steel "C" type Door handles of 32mm dia 600mm long for following sizes with SS 316 Grade solid Rod, in Steel Doors/ wooden Doors including screws / bolts etc. as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing , supplying and fixing bright Finished / Stainless steel finish Brass Aldrop of size 300 X 16 mm and design including C.P BRASS / SS screws and Bolting from rear side including required no of 'Kuntis' etc complete all as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (For hollow metal doors & fire doors indicated in the schedule elsewhere)

Providing and fixing IS: 3564 marked aluminium die cast body tubular type universal hydraulic door closer with necessary accessories and screws etc. in wooden doors/ steel doors with necessary bolts & nuts complete as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and fixing SS tower bolts of size 300 X 12 mm IS:204 marked (Two pieces) with necessary screws etc. for the following sizes all as per specifications and as per Drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Supplying and fixing Double glazed Clear Vision Panel of 5mm thick Glass are made to fix glass flush to the steel door shutter with double sided adhesive tape and pointed with silicon sealant on both faces of the shutter complete as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (For hollow metal doors & fire doors indicated in the schedule elsewhere)

PAINTING WORKS

Note: 1) All external/internal painting works will have to be done with erecting double tubular steel scaffolding only. No jhoola/Bhada shall be permitted. All rates quoted in the above painting items shall include erection of double tubular scafolding and provision of safety measures like safety belts, eye protection gears, etc.

Providing , painting and finishing internal walls with two coats of acrylic emulusion paint on sand face plaster/ plain plaster & concrete of required shade over a coat of cement primer (total 3 coats). Cost including preparation of the surfaces, erection of double tubular scaffolding, all leads and lifts, labour charges etc., complete as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge

Providing, painting, finishing external walls with two coats of Premium Acrylic smooth exterior paint on sand face plaster / plain plaster & concrete surfaes with Silicone additives of required shade ( each coat applied @ minimum1.43 ltr / 10 sqm) over and above a base coat of water proofing cement paint to be applied @ minimum 2.20 kg / 10 sqm including preparation of the surfaces, including erection of double tubular scafolding complete all as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and painting two coats on steel surfaces with synthetic enamel paint and required colour to give an even shade over a coat of zinc chromate primer (total three coats) Coat including preparation of the surfaces, scaffolding complete all as per technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

PARTITIONS, WINDOWS & GLAZING

Providing and fixing Pre painted Steel sliding Window with MS grill fabricated from roll formed sections made of Galvanized steel colour coated /powder coated (Base Steel as per IS 513 ‘D’ quality galvanized as per IS 277 with Zinc of 120 Gms./ Sq.mtr) with total coated thickness of 0.58mm. Primer Coat with epoxy primer of 5-7 microns thick, finished paint with a polyester paint of 12-16 microns thick and back coated with Alkyd backer of 5-7 microns or powder coated with pure polyester powder up to 50-60 microns thick. The External Section for two track Sliding Window should be of 44 x 59mm with a provision for bottom track insert profile of 10x9 mm made of aluminium. Section for Window glass shutter should be of 35x49mm , Section for Window Euro groove should be of 25x24mm made of plastic to accommodate standard accessories, and section for window lap strip should be of 21x4mm made of plastic. Section for Door shutter should be of 35x67mm, Section for Door Euro Groove 25x31mm made of plastic to accommodate standard accessories and size of lap strip should be of 39x41mm. The Window/Door to be panelled with 5mm thick plain float glass. The gaskets are to be made of Ethyl Propylene Diamine Manomer [EPDM]. Corner Brackets for internal and external frame to be made of glass filled nylon. Touch lock to be provided for Window Shutter. Sections are to be cut to length, joined and assembled by means of corner brackets. The above frame to be fixed to Brick/Concrete masonry by using Nylon selfexpanding caps and driving MS electroplated 80mm screws into the caps through frames. The Grill for safety for windows to be made of 10mm thick square rod bars with 152mm pitch for complete item of work. For Door there will be no Safety Grill including cost and conveyance of all materials, accessories, labour charges for transportation, erection at site complete for finished item of work.

Providing and fixing 2 Hour Fire rated metal framed partitions of Non Load bearing type (98mm overall Thickness) using Floor/ceiling Channels of 50 x 32 x 32 x 0.55mm size at Top & bottom perimeter of the Partition and Studs of 48x50x48x0.55mm Vertically at maximum of 610 mm centre to centre and Bracing members of 45x15x15x0.90mm at horizontal at all board joints with 2 Boards of 12mm thick Calcium silicate board on both sides with self drilling screws to metal frame at 200mm C/C.All cavities in the partition shall be filled with CERAMIC wool of 50mm thick of Densisty 64Kg/Cu.M. All joints shall be filled & finished with Joining Compound and 48mm wide fiber tape to get seamless finish. Cost includes coat of Cement primer,Putty and finished with 2coats of Acrylic Emulsion paint complete all as per the Drawings/fabrication drawings as per manufacturers Specification and as directed at site by the Engineer-in-charge. Note:1.Additional structural framework with hollow sections will be paid under relevant items if requirement decided by EIC 2. No separate amount will be paid for painting of parttions

Providing and Fixing Homogeneous 2.00 mm thick PVC sheet flooring and skirting in approved pattern on existing concrete/ approved surfaces on a smooth and damp proof base using rubber based adhesive of approved quality and manufacturer including, levelling small undulations with plasterof paris if required as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge in approved colour and shade.

Porviding and fixing of godrej Nav-Tal or equivalent 6 levers and 3 keys a strong brass padlock non corrosive and rust resistant product (key padlock) from suggested brands.
