The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing certain categories of work during the last 7 years. These categories are: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, or (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. The similar work is defined as any structural steel fabrication work. In case of substantially completed work, payment equal to or more than 90% of the present contract value must have been made to the contractor. Additionally, the value of the final bill, including the price variation amount, is considered as the completion cost of the work, and for substantially completed work, the total gross amount already paid, including the price variation amount, is considered as the cost of the substantially completed work. The value of a completed work done by a member in an earlier Joint Venture (JV) is reckoned only to the extent of the concerned member's share in that JV. The bidder must also have a minimum average annual contractual turnover, calculated as an average of "total contractual payments" in the previous three financial years. The specific amount and percentage for average annual contractual turnover is 'V/N' or 'V'; whichever is less, where 'V'= Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees and 'N'= Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited.
