LAYING & WELDING OF PRODUCT PIPELINE (ABOVE GROUND) IN ZONE- A Laying and welding (3 runs minm.) Above Ground Pipelines from supplied MS pipes (pipes to be supplied anywhere within the depot and the contractor shall shift the same to the site of work at no extra cost with all leads and lifts) of the following sizes as described below, including cutting, bevelling and fixing the supplied specials such as elbows, bends, tees, reducers, etc complete and successful hydrotesting the pipeline at a pressure of 10.5 kg/cm2 for a minimum period of 4 Hrs. The job includes Dye Penetration (DP) testing of pipeline joints as per approved QAP. Above ground pipeline to be laid on concrete pedestals (which is to be constructed as per the respective item of this schedule)/ piperacks/ TLF shed/ pump house and manifolds and Painting the pipeline as per the specifications enclosed including the colour coding as per IOC specifications. Welding of pipeline should conform to Radiography quality. 10% of the joints shall be radiographed and the cost of the same will be paid separately as per respective item, etc. and as directed at site. Note: a. Any repairs to the defective welding shall be made good at no extra cost to IOCL. Re-radiography of repaired joint shall also be at contractor's cost. b. The rates quoted also to include Painting and colour coding of pipelines as per the standards. c. Painting Scheme : Application for External painting shall be carried out by means of AIRLESS SPRAY PAINTING SYSTEM only. 1. Surface Preparation : as per Sa 2½ 2. Primer : P1- Inorganic Zinc Ethyl Silicate - Single Coat, DFT 65-75µ 3. Intermediate Coat : U1- Polyamide cured HB Epoxy MIO - 2 Coats , DFT 200-250µ (2 coats of 100-125µ) 4. Civil works for laying of UG pipeline laying will be paid separately. c. Wrapping/Coating to be done as per specification given below & detailed specification given in tender document. i) Surface preparation : Blast cleaning to Sa 2½ ii) Primer : Apply a coat of primer (Coal Tar and solvent based primer) of density 0.90 to 0.95 gm/cm3 and viscosity of 1000-2000 centipoise (Pypkote primer manufactured by IWL or its equivalent) at the rate of 100 gm/sq.m. The primer shall be allowed to dry until the solvent evaporates and the surface becomes tacky. iii) Pypkote AW 4mm tape or equivalent is wound around the pipe in spiral fashion and bonded completely to the primer coated surface of the pipe by thermo fusion process and with recommended overlaps as per manufacturers’ specifications. The overlaps are sealed by the same thermo fusion process. 250mm is left uncoated on either end of the pipe to permit installation and welding - these to be wrapped / coated after welding of pipe joint.
