The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in general and experience in the proposed position. Specifically, the bidder should have: - Worked as a prime contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years, with a certificate from the Engineer-In-Charge required. - Existing commitments and on-going construction works with details such as value of contract, stipulated period of completion, value of works remaining to be completed, and anticipated date of completion. - Works for which bids have already been submitted with details such as estimated value of works, stipulated period of completion, and date when decision is expected. To qualify for the award of the Contract, each bidder should have in the last five years: (a) Achieved in any one year a minimum financial turnover (in all cases of civil engineering construction works only) volume of construction work of at least the amount equal to the estimated cost of works (excluding maintenance cost for five years for which bid has been invited). (b) Satisfactorily completed, as prime Contractor, at least one similar work equal in value to one-third of the estimated cost of work (excluding maintenance cost for five years) for which the bid is invited. The bidder's available bid capacity for construction work should be equal to or more than the total bid value, calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years. Regarding the value and percentage of similar works completed, the bidder should have: - Total annual volume of civil engineering constructions work executed and payments received in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited (certificate from a chartered accountant required) - Value of works remaining to be completed (in Rs. Lakhs) with a certificate from the Engineer-in-charge - Estimated value of works (in Rs. Lakhs) for which bids have already been submitted - One-third of the estimated cost of work - The estimated cost of works (excluding maintenance cost for five years) - The maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years - 10 percent of the contract value for liquid assets and/or credit facilities - 25 percent of the contract price for subcontracting components of the works Additionally, key personnel such as the Project Manager, Construction Engineer, and Material and Quality Control Engineer should have specific experience requirements, including: - A Degree Holder in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, out of which 5 years of experience of having handled/executed independently large road work projects. - A Degree Holder in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience. - A Diploma holder in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience. - A Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance of plant & machinery. - A Surveyor with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
