Digging of trenches by cutting of finished surface of Road Cable shall be supplied free of cost by railways which shall have to be transported by the contractor from railway store to the site on his own cost . This involves excavation of 1000 mm deep ( 500mm wide ) for single cable and 15 cm additional width per additional cable to be laid in parallel ) trench in soil /hard muuram/tar road / 18 below railway track . Then the bottom of trench should be levelled freed from stone , sharp edges of rocks . Then lay a bed of 70mm fine sand at bottom of trench . after this cable shall be laid and then well burnt country brick shall be laid width wise above the cable .The rest of the trench filled by Sheaved earth duly ramming for consolidation throughout the length of cable trench . If any masonry work is required to restore the surface condition to the original state , same shall be done by the contractor . As per Technical Scope of Work.
