Labour only for preparing the old black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces using mechanical air blower to remove all loose dirt and foreign materials etc. and applying one coat of Polymer Modified Emulsion (PME) @ 0.60 litre/sqm (undiluted) PME (or quantity as decided after trial coat but not less than 0.60 Ltr/Sqm) diluted with equal quantity of water to be applied uniformaly for 1 Sqm area after mixed with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME. The PME shall be applied on bituminous surfaces by using self propelled bitumen emulsion sprayer or towed bitumen emulsion pressure sprayer equipped for spraying the binder and mopping the area and ensure uniform finish of bituminous surface complete all as per manufacturer's instructions and all as specified and directed. Note :- The tenderer shall take into consideration the points given here in after while quoting his rate for this item :-

Contd...Item No.1.00 - (a) The Polymer modified Emulsion (PME) shall be measured and paid seperatly under serial item No 2.00 given here in after as Supply only". (b) All the labour element and equipment / machinary for application of PME under this item shall deemed to be included in quoted unit rate. (c) Frictional parameters shall be falls between 0.30 - 0.60 after application of PME. Contractor will make arrangements of Portable Skid Resistance Tester (PSTR) and will carryout necessary testing and will submit report to Engineer-in-Charge as directed without any extra cost to the Govt. (d) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicator of the manufacturer only as approved by GE in writing. (e) Special care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks up to 3mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturer's insturctions and quoted rate shall deemed to be included for repair of gaps/cracks. (f) A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to GE after completion of the entire work as specified. (g) Any number of trial patch of dimension 15m x 15m as directed by GE shall be carried out by the contractor before commencement of treatment. Quantity will be measured and paid under relevant items.

Contd...Item No.1.00 - (h) On approval of trial patch the Contractor shall immediately procure the total quantity of material required and also submit PVs and test reports before starting the work. (i) The commencement and completion of work shall be within the preiod as per site availability and Users directives and Contractor shall adhere strictly to the timelines by complying for all emergency requirements as per direction of Users and complete the work satisfactorily in all respects within the specified time period. (j) Cost of all tests as specified in PS or asked by Engr-in-Charge shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rates of the respective items of the BOQ / Sch'A'. (k) The contractor will take care white marking lines of runway during application of PME. The contractor will cover the white marking lines by using polythene sheets during application of PME.
