The bidder is required to have prior work experience as a prime contractor or as a member of a joint venture on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder should have completed similar nature of work, justified by the JV agreement. The value of the works completed should be mentioned in the certificate, and it should be countersigned by the Engineer-in-Charge. The bidder must have successfully completed or substantially completed similar work during the last five years. The similar work experience can be demonstrated in the following ways: - At least one work - not less than 80% of the estimated project cost. - At least two works - not less than 50% of the estimated project cost. - At least three works - not less than 40% of the estimated project cost. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed as on the date of submission, and continuing satisfactorily. The bidder needs to provide information on the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years. The bidder should submit a certificate from a Chartered Accountant mentioning the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received for each of the last five years. Additionally, the bidder needs to provide a certificate from the Executive Engineer for similar nature of works executed. The bidder is also required to invest a minimum of 25% of the contract price of the works during the implementation of the contract. The bidder having an annual turnover of Rs.1000 Cr (one thousand crore) or more in any of the last five years is exempt from certain clauses. The bidder should have achieved an average financial turnover from construction work in the last 5 financial years equal to 50% of the estimated cost of works for which the bid has been invited.
