M&L for cleaning and racking out the existing expansion joint /construction joint sealed with sealing compound PU or any description 25 mm to 35 mm wide and up to 35 mm to 45 mm depth by appropriate hand tools (chisel and hammer or "L" hook including removing the existing sealing compound from the edges with knife or any other means such as chisel hammer and grinding or any tools without damaging the edges and sides of the joint and removing the loose particles using wire brush and hot compressed air and priming the sides and making the surface bitumen free as per the manufacturer instruction provision of de bonding strip (thickness shall be 20 to 25 % more than the width of joint ) at bottom of joint and sealed the joint with pitch free grey polyurethane sealant conforming to BS -5212 , BS4254 and EN- 141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor MAF of +/- 30 % .Minimum depth of the sealant above debonding strip shall be 10-15 mm and applying the masking tap on edge of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tap after sealant is applied complete all as specified and directed.

Note :-
(i) Expansion joints, Construction joints and Dummy (Contraction) joints shall be measured and paid separately under respective items. (ii) Deduction shall be made in computing concrete quantity for expansion joints. No deduction shall be made in computing PQC for Construction joints and Dummy (Contraction) joints.
(iii) Finishing coat shall be measured and paid separately.
(iv) For the purpose of pricing this item, cement content shall be considered 400 Kg/Cum. Minus price adjustment @ Rs 8 per Kg for cement shall be made to the quoted rates in case quantity of cement is less than 400 Kg/ Cum. However no plus price adjustment shall be made to the quoted rate in case quantity of cement is more than 400 Kg/ Cum.
(v) The cost of admixture required as per design mix shall deemed to be included in the quoted rates.
(vi) Non circular, virgin, synthetic, monofilament polyster fibres shall be measured and paid separately as "Supply only" under respective item of BOQ.
(vii) Design mix for PQC shall be got carried out by the contractor from NABH accedredited IIT/NIT/Govt Engg College/Govt approved Lab and shall be got approved by GE before commencement of cement concrete work in PQC/hardstanding.
