M&L Scarifying or picking gravelled, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces in area n.exc 400 sqm, (depth exc 50mm but n.exc. 100mm deep) including stacking use able materials for re-use and removing rubbish to a distance n. exc. 50m, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L 75 mm thick (avg compacted thickness) WBM in one layer with coarse aggregate of grading 2 (Limestone, Sand stone, Flint or Quartzite of 63 to 40 mm size) or grading 03(50 to 20mm size) spread, rolled and consolidated to gradient and camber required with 8 to 12 tonne power roller, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for Preparing unsurfaced water bound macadam by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud vegitation grass etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with mechanical air compressor to remove all loose dirt etc and applying evenly a priming/tack coat with bituminous primer using paving bitumen VG-10 @ 10 Kg / 10 Sqm and bituminous premixed asphaltic semi dense concrete 40mm consolidated thickness using crushed graded stone aggregate mixed with binder content of paving bitumen VG-30 with 5.5% binder contents by weight of total mix by using self propelled mechanical paver, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient with 8 to 10 Tonne capacity power roller including preparation of bitumen carpet in digital computarized weigh batch hot mix plant, complete all as specified. Note: The quantity of bitumen shall be provided as per Design mix approved by GE. (The cost of transportation of the material to the Govt approved lab and design mix charges shall be borne by the contractor). for the purpose of quoting, the contractor shall consider 5.5% binder by weight of total mix. However, the work shall be executed as per approved design and price adjustment shall be done only for variation (plus or minus) in quantity of binder priced at supply only rate of bitumen (as per purchase voucher of main producer).
