The bidder is required to have experience in construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. They need to provide details of work performed as a prime contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder must have satisfactorily completed, as a prime contractor, at least one similar work equal in value to one-third (or one-fourth in case of Naxal / Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) of the estimated cost of the work for which the bid is invited. Additionally, the bidder should have achieved a minimum financial turnover, with at least 50% of it being from civil engineering construction works, equivalent to 60% of the amount put to bid if it is Rs.200 lakhs or less, and 75% of the amount put to bid if it is more than Rs.200 lakhs. In Naxal / Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts, the figure of 75% would be replaced by 50%. The bidder should also provide information on the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited, with a specific format to be filled with the amount in Rs. in lakhs for each of the five years. The available bid capacity for construction work should be equal to or more than the total bid value excluding maintenance, calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the last year at the rate of 8 percent a year.
