The required prior work experience for the bidder is related to the "Bid Capacity" clause, which requires the bidder to have executed similar nature of work worth 75% of the estimated cost, put to tender during any three financial years taken together of the last preceding five years. The bidder should have completed works above Rs 3.00 Crores to be eligible. The value of similar works completed is updated to the current price level using an escalation factor, but no specific percentage of similar works completed is mentioned in terms of a required percentage for each project. However, the bidder needs to provide the value of work already executed and the value of works remaining to be completed for each project. The bidder's available bid capacity should be more than the total estimated cost of the works, calculated using the formula: Assessed Available Bid Capacity = (A*N*2-B), where A is the maximum value of Civil Engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, B is the value of current price level of the existing commitments & ongoing works to be completed during the next years, and N is the number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which the bids are invited. The value of A is updated to the current price level using a 10 percent per year escalation factor. The bidder needs to furnish information on the value of existing commitments and ongoing works, and demonstrate having experience and resources sufficient to meet the aggregate of the qualifying criteria for the individual contracts.
