The bid capacity required in the given tender to bid having value and formulas is related to the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or initial security deposit, which is 2% or 3% of the cost of the work as per the accepted tender. The formulas for calculating bid capacity are: Assessed Available Bid Capacity = (A * N * 2) - B Where: A = Maximum value of Civil Engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years (updated to the current price level) B = Value of current price level of the existing commitments & ongoing works to be completed during the next years N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which the bids are invited (for work completion period less than one year, the value may be taken as one) Additionally, there are formulas provided for price adjustment due to changes in labour, fuel, and plant and machinery spares costs.
