Assessed Available Bid capacity = (A*N*2) - B Where: A = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last Five years N = Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which bids are invited. B = Value of existing commitments and on-going works to be completed during the next 06 (Six) Month Additionally, the bidder/ contractor should have completed similar type of works in last five years with a minimum cost of: - Not less than the project cost/ work portion of the given work portion/ cost of the project - OR minimum THREE similar types of works (projects), minimum cost of which should not be less than 40% of the cost of the given work. - OR minimum TWO similar types of works (projects), minimum cost of which should not be less than 50% of the cost of the given work. - OR minimum ONE similar type of work (project), minimum cost of which should not be less than 80% of the cost of the given work. The total cost of such works should not be more than 30% of the cost of work portion of this tender. Other formulas for calculating the price variation or escalation for different components are: 1. Material Component: V2 = 0.85 x P x (K2 /100 x M1-M0/M0) 2. Petrol, Oil and Lubricant Component: V3 = 0.85 x P x (K3 / 100 x P1 – P0/ P0) 3. Bitumen Component: V4 = QB (B1 – B0) 4. HYSD and Mild Steel, T.M.T. Component: V5 = S0 (Sl1 – Sl0/Sl0) x T 5. Cement/lime Component: V6 = C0 (Cl1 – Cl0/Cl0) x T Also, if the tenderer has quoted an offer below the estimated cost put to tender, they shall have to submit Additional Performance Security, calculated as: - If the offer submitted is below the estimated cost put to tender by more than 1% but less than 10%, the Additional Performance Security shall be 1% of the estimated cost put to tender. - If the offer is below the estimated cost put to tender by more than 10%, the Additional Performance Security shall be 1% of the estimated cost put to tender plus an amount equal to the percentage by which the offer is below 10% of the estimated cost put to tender. The bid capacity required in the given tender also includes an investment of minimum cash up to 25% of the value of work during implementation of the Contract.
