The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing specific categories of work(s) during the last 07 years. These categories are: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, or (iii) One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender. For subletting of work, the subcontractor must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, no previous work experience of the subcontractor is required for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh. The definition of similar work includes various types of civil work, but no specific value or percentage of similar works completed is mentioned in this context. In the case of a newly formed partnership firm, the credentials of individual partners are considered to the extent of their share in the previous entity and their share in the newly formed partnership firm. An example is given where the credentials of a partner are calculated as 0.3*0.2*value of the work done in the previous entity. Another example mentions that the credentials of a partnership firm remain at Rs 6 crore after a partner quits, down from Rs 10 crore.
