Manning and operation of electrical substation and installations such as transformer,VCB, Main Receiving Station (MRS) installations comprising of LT panel boards/LT switch gears including operation of DG set of capacity 100 KVA, servo stabilizers and water supply installations viz:Pump sets 1.5 HP to 2 HP, valves,chlorome plant by providing one (01) number of Electrician cum Fitter(highly skilled) for each shift at CG Minicoy as directed by the Engineer in Charge (I)EACH JOB MEANS (a) One shift of eight hours. (b) The installation shall run 2 shift per day including Sunday and Govt holidays. First Shift shall start from 0600 hrs to 1400 hrs and Second shift from 1400 hrs to 2200 hrs. Accordingly the contractor shall employ sufficent number of tradesman required for the work.

COMMON NOTES The rate quoted by the contractor for the item nos :1,2,3,4 & 5 mentioned above shall include the following works:- (a) Transformer : (i) Silica jelly should be periodically checked and should be replaced when the same is deteriorated and the cost of the same is deemed to be included in the rate quoted above (ii) Transformer oil should be checked at least once in six months to see its breaking capacity and its value to be entered in the register and obtaing signature from JE/Engr-in-Charge (Instrument to check breaking capacity is to brought by contractor) (iii) Transformer oil level shall be checked regularly and if needs to be top upto recommended level, the cost of topup of oil to maintain level is deemed to be included in the rate quoted above (b) VCB : (i) Should be checked periodically for loose connection and the same should be rectified, necessary corrosion free paste to be applied in all electrical cable terminations for easy maintenance and to avoid corrosion Note : The cost of corrosion free paste deemed to be included in the rate quoted above (c) Servo Stablizer : Contractor is responsible for safe operation of Servo Stablizer and its general maintenance

(d) DG set : (i) Maintenance and operation shall be done by trained men for smooth functioning of DG set (ii) One 'B' check of engine is compulsory and additional 'B' checks shall be carried out depending upon the number of hours of running of DG sets (iii) Daily checks on Engine : (1) Check oil level and top upto recommended level, (2) Check air filter and dust bowl, (3) Clean engine and surrounding, (4) Check oil pressure and max speed ( Min oil pressure - 1.5 kg/cm2 at idling speed & min oil pressure - 2.5 kg/cm2 at rated speed), (5) Check coolant water level and top upto recommended level and check its temperature, (6) Check engine for leakage, (7) Check battery and topup acid & distilled water upto recommended level. (iv) After every 250 hrs : (1) Change engine oil, (2) Change lub oil, bypass and diesel filter elements, (3) Clean /change air filter element, (4) Check fan assembly and grease fan bearing, (5) Check belt tension adjust if required, (6) Clean Alternator with compressed dry air, (7) Brushed should be examined for their contact and free movement and to be adjusted so that correct brush pressure is maintained (7) Check all electrical connections. NOTE : The cost of engine oil, Radiator coolant and battery acid, distilled water are included in the above rate. (v) The department will issue POL free of cost at MES store yard to operate the DG set, and the shall be transported and filled in DG set fuel tank. Proper safe custody and accounting of POL is the responsibility of the contractor NOTE : The cost of engine oil, Radiator coolant and battery acid with distilled water are deemed to be included in the rate quoted above

(e) Air Conditioners (i) Cleaning of split AC indoor and outdoor units as recommended by OEM (f) LT Panel, Circuit Breakers & Minor electrical works (i). All LT panels shall be checked periodically once in a quarter for loose connection and the same should be rectified, necessary corrosion free paste to be applied in all electrical cable terminations for easy maintenance and to avoid corrosion Note : The cost of corrosion free paste deemed to be included in the rate quoted above (g).Centrifugal pump / Submersible pump and water pipe lines (1) Wipe, clean the pump and its surroundings (2) Operation of water supply pump sets of capacity upto to 3 HP (3) Check temperature raise of bearing frequently (4) Check leakage or pipe line burst and (5) Minor repairs to pumps and jointing of pipe line with CPVC/PVC solvent and the cost of such solvents are deemed to be included in the rate quoted above (6) Contractor is responsible for short receipt of water and the same to be rectified immediately (h) Chlorination system Adding bleaching powder/chlorine granual manually as directed and ensure recommended level, maintaining chlorination register and obtaining signature from JE/Engineer-in-Charge (2) Bleaching powder/Chlorine granual shall be issued by the department at free of cost for dosing in to water (j)Earthing Value : Contractor shall maintain a register to monitor the earthing value of Transformers, VCBs, LT Panel, DG sets, Building Lightning Arrestors and E/M installations

All installations shall be maintained properly by : (i) Regularly applying paint to metallic parts to avoid corrosion to E/M installations (Paint and turpentine will be provided by the department whereas necessary brush, sand paper, cotton waste and tools will be borne by contractor) (ii) Daily cleaning of power station and pump house and upkeep of surrounding (iii) Maintainence of all above said Registers and its cost is deemed to be included in the rate quaoted above Common notes : (a) The tradesman employed shall report the duty in time at duty spot for attending any emergency breakdown. Maintenance of attendance register obtaining signature from JE/Engr-in-Charge (b) In case of electric supply failure, it shall be the responsibility of contractor to ensure DG set supply to installations immediately (c) Maintenance of attendance register obtaining signature of Engineer- in charge
