The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing specific categories of work within the last 7 years. These categories include: - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, - One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. For composite works, the requirements are similar but based on the advertised value of each component of the tender. The value and percentage of similar works completed are as follows: - 30% of the advertised value of the tender for three similar works, - 40% of the advertised value of the tender for two similar works, - 60% of the advertised value of the tender for one similar work. Additionally, for substantially completed work, 90% of the present contract value is considered, and the credential certificate should have been issued not prior to 60 days of the date of invitation of the present tender. For subletting of work, the subcontractor must have completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of the subcontractor is required. The amount of liquidated damages for failure to employ a qualified engineer is Rs 40,000 and Rs 25,000 for each month or part thereof for the default period for works with a cost of Rs 200 Lakhs and above, and works with a cost of more than Rs 25 Lakhs but less than Rs 200 Lakhs, respectively. The security deposit is 5% of the contract value.
