The bidder is required to have experience in civil engineering works of similar nature and size completed during the last five financial years. For individual bidders, the total value of civil engineering construction work performed in the last five years is required, with specific values for each year. The bidder must have completed similar works with a value of at least the contract value. However, specific percentages are not always mentioned. For contract values up to 50 crores, the bidder should have completed at least three similar works, each of value not less than 50% of 50% of the estimated value of the contract. Alternatively, the bidder can have two similar works each of value not less than 60% of 50% of the estimated value of the contract, or one similar work of value not less than 90% of 50% of the estimated value of the contract. For contract value more than 50 crores, the bidder should have completed two similar works not less than the amount indicated, usually not less than 50% of the estimated value of the contract, in the last five years. The bidder should also have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of certain items of work, usually 50% of the estimated quantity, including cement concrete, earthwork in excavation, truss work, and reinforcement. Additionally, the bidder should have satisfactorily completed at least 90% of the contract value as a prime contractor or nominated subcontractor, and achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of 60% of the estimated value of the work tendered for tender amounts more than 2.5 crores. The bidder must also undertake to invest a minimum of 25% of the contract value in cash during the implementation of the contract.
