Scarifying or picking gravelled, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces, depth exceeding 50mm deep but not exceeding 100 mm deep and area exceeding 400sqm, stacking the serviceable material at site and removing the surplus material to a distance not exceeding 50m complete all as specified and directed.

Preparing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with power sweeper or compressor to remove all loose dirt etc., applying evenly a priming/ tack coat with bituminous primer using paving bitumen at 5 kg per 10 sq metre of road surface, laying bituminous premix semi dense asphaltic concrete 30mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% bitumen binder content by weight of total mix using 20mm crushed stone aggregate, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient with 8 to 10 tonne vibrator power roller, complete all as specified and directed. Note:- Bituminous premix semi dense asphaltic concrete shall be mixed in automatic temperature controlled hot mixing plant, transported and premix carpet shall be laid in single layer with self propelled mechanical paver, rolled with vibrator roller. Note- refer PS clause No. 12.4.2 applicable.

Preparing water bound macadom surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with power sweeper or compressor to remove all loose dirt etc., applying evenly a priming/ tack coat with bituminous primer using paving bitumen at 10 kg per 10 sq metre of road surface, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient with 8 to 10 tonne vibrator power roller, complete all as specified and directed. Note:- Bituminous macadam shall be mixed in hot mix plant, transported and shall be laid in single layer with self propelled mechanical paver, rolled with vibrator roller
