Soling (or sub base), 150 mm thick (spread thickness), with broken boulders or quarried stone (granite/ basalt) including filling of interstices, surface formed and rolled and consolidated to required gradient and camber with power roller of capacity 8 to 12 tonne, complete all as specified and directed.

150mm thick (Compacted thickness) WBM in two equal layers 75mm (each layer compacted seprately) with coarse aggregates of grading 2 (63 to 40mm size) or of grading 2 (50 to 20mm size) of granite, trap or basalt spreading and compaction with 8 to 12 tonne power roller and consolidated to required gradient and camber complete all as specified and directed.

Preparing un-surfaced water bound macadam surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc., and applying evenly a priming / tack coat on un-surfaced water bound macadam surfaces with paving bitumen primer using bitumen VG-10 paving grade ( 80 -100 penetration) @ 10 Kg per Ten Square Metre with tar boiler and including Bituminous premix asphaltic semi dense concrete 40mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% paving bitumen using bitumen VG-30 paving grade ( 50 -70 penetration) binder content by weight of total mix rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient, complete, all as specified and as directed.

Removing excavated material not exc 50M and depositing where directed at a level not exc 1.5M above the starting point, complete all as specified and as directed.

Continuous brick edging, with width equal to the width of the brick, laid dry on end vertically with burnt clay bricks of sub class 'B' bricks, complete all as specified and directed.

Making trip straight line, zebra crossing and stop lines not less than 2.5 mm thick with hot applied thermoplastic road marking paint of approved brand (white or yellow) including admixture layer of glass beads confirming to BS-6088 and MOST specification by using automatic mechanical road marking machine including cleaning of all dirt, scales oil, grease and foreign material etc. complete, all as specified and as directed.

Note for item No. 6 : (a) Preparation of mix in hot mix plant, spreading by self propelling mechanical paver and rolling and compaction by set of rollers as specified in particular specifications shall be carried out. Hot mix plant may be installed at any distance but the contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the required temperature of mix under all conditions till it is laid and compacted. Unit rate against these items shall include for carrying out the works with deployment of these machinery for which nothing extra shall be payable and no delay in completion of work shall be acceptable on this account. (b) To achieve marshal stability of 1050 KN and all as per SSR Part-I Clause No. 20.B.4. (c) If qty of binder contents is less than the qty as specified in respective items of BOQ, it shall be adjusted at supply only rates of paving bitumen @ Rs 60.00 Per Kg and if qty of binder contents is more than the qty as specified in respective items of BOQ no adjustment shall be made.
