M&L Earthing complete as per electrical plate No 5 of MES SSR Part I with galvanised steel plate earth electrode 60 cm x 60 cm x 6.0 mm, burried directly vertically in ground in a pit of depth not less than 2.5 metres below ground level with the top edge of earth plate at a depth not less than 1.5 m below normal ground level connected to and including galvanised iron or steel earth strip 25 x 4 mm by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanised iron or steel. Earthing strip protected by galvanised iron or steel pipe 50 mm bore medium grade and connected to continuous earth wire on pole/ test point. Watering pipe shall be 20mm bore GI medium grade. The earthing shall be inclusive of excavation and earth work in any type of soil, charcoal, salt, funnel , PCC pit and RCC cover complete all as specified & directed by Engr-in-Charge. Note 1- following items deemed to be included in quoted rate (a) Earth electrode. (b) Main earthing lead from earth electrode to test point and further to equipment to be earthed upto 7.5 metre. (c) Material and labour for connecting earth electrode and earthing lead as specified. (d) Adequate quantity of charcoal, dust, common salt and ground enhacement material as required to bring the earthing resistance as per direction. (e) All labour involved including testing of earth net work. (f) Excavation and earth work or drilling hole for electrode. (g) P.C.C. pit and C.I. cover. (h) Funnel with watering pipe, wire mesh and copper lugs etc. as specified. (j) G.I. protection pipe of size ordered specified for protection of earthing lead from mechanical injury or tempering. Note 2 - On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost.

Earthing complete with copper earth plate electrode of size 60 cm x 60 cm x 3.15 mm thick as earth electrode burried directly in ground with top edge of the earth plate not less than 2.5mtr below ground level using copper earth strip 20 x 3 mm dia as earth continuity conductor connected to earth plate by means of copper thimbles, nuts, bolts, washers including brazing etc of earth electrode and earth wire by means of welding, all as directed including providing watering pipe 20mm dia with wire mesh and funnel at top, earth pit and pit cover made of MS sheet 10 mm thick duly fixed to angle iron frame with hinges of appropriate size by welding and having locking arrangement, adequate quantity of charcoal dust and salt all around the earth plate, earth work in any type of soil , removing surplus excavated material all as required at site and as specified in EP No 3 of MES SSR Part-I (2009) directed by Engineer-in-charge including testing on completion. Note : (i) (ii) The grid of earthing trhough earth strip to achieved earth resistance less than 01 ohm to 05 ohm shall be deemed into the quoted rate and no extra payment shall be made to contractor. (iii) The test point shall be made after the grid of earthing and algebric sum of of strip with GI protation pipe shall be measured after 7.5 mtr earth pit.The strip beyond the total sum shall be paid seperately (c) Earthing will be carried out in presence of users and MES rep with entire satisfaction. (d) The ground enhansing material (GEM) / chemicals shall be added with soil and the GEM/chemicals shall be deemed to be included shall be quoted rates.
