Another formula for bid capacity is: Assessed Available bid capacity = (A*N*2.5-B) Where: A = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years (updated to the price level of the current financial year at the rate of 8% per year) N = 1.5 (Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which bids are invited) B = Value, at the current price level, of existing commitments and on-going works to be completed concurrently with the works specified up to the period of “N” above 4. Another formula for bid capacity is: Bid Capacity = (M + B) / N Where: M = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years (updated to the current financial year at the rate of 8% per year) B = Value, at the current price level, of existing commitments and on-going works to be completed concurrently with the works specified up to the period of “N” N = 1.5 (Number of years prescribed for completion of the works for which bids are invited) Partners of a Joint Venture (JV) should jointly possess the bid capacity.
