The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having completed a minimum of one similar work with an amount not less than 40% of the estimated cost, or a minimum of one civil engineering work with an amount not less than 80% of the estimated cost, in the last five years. The value of executed works is brought to the current costing level by enhancing the actual value of work at a simple rate of 5% per annum. For the technical representative, the experience required is a minimum of 2 years for Diploma Engineers and 2-5 years for Graduate Engineers, depending on the cost of the work. Diploma holders with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience can be treated at par with Graduate Engineers, subject to certain conditions. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed similar works of a certain magnitude, with specific criteria including minimum one similar work done of an amount not less than 40% of the estimated cost in the last five years, or minimum one Civil Engineering work of an amount not less than 80% of the estimated cost in the last five years. Additionally, the contractor whose tender is accepted will be required to furnish performance guarantee of 5% of the tendered amount for tenders having a tendered amount of Rs. 100 Lac and above, and security deposit of 5% for works of tendered value less than Rs. 100 lac and 2.5% for works of tendered value of Rs. 100 lac and above. The available bid capacity is calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the financial year in which bids are received at the rate of 8 percent a year. The calculation of available bid capacity is as follows: Assessed Available Bid capacity = (A x N x M - B), where A = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years.
