Excavation in earthwork in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etcetra and to protect stability of hill side track shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification clause 1603.1 & 1603.2 to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal and dumping to be arranged by the contractor of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner , trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth riding. The recovery for useful stones, for 7335.13 cum. (Seven thousand three hundred thirty five three point thirteen cubic meter) @ Rupees 300/= only (Rupees Three hundred only) per cubic metre shall be effected on pro rata basis in all circumstances. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.

Excavation in soil in hilly area by manual means including cutting and trimming of side slopes and disposing of excavated earth with in all leads and lifts as per drawing and technical specification clause 1603.1 including carriage of materials within all lead and lifts as per direction by the Engineer-in-charge.

Earth work in excavation for all tupe of road structure such as retaining walls, breast walls, culverts, drains and parapets etcetra in all type of classification of soil comprising of ordinary soil, ordinary rocks, hard rocks, chiselling/wedging out of rocks (where blasting it prohibited) as per drawins and MORD. technical specification clause 305.1, 1104 and 1606.1 and as per direction of the Enigneer-in-charge inlcuding setting out construction of shoring and bracing, romoval of stumps and other deleterious materials and disposal of materials upto all leads and lifts inlcuding dressing of sides and bottom and back filling in trenches with excavatged suitable approved materials to the original surface in layers not exceeding 150mm (one hundred fifty milimetres) compacted thickness including shorting and strutting and pumping and bailing out water (surface and sub sloil water) upto all depth and any quantum of water including cleaning of slush which may arise out during dewatering and as per the direction of the Engineer-in-charge including carriage of materials within all lead and lifts as per direction by the Engineer-in-charge.
