Excavation in foundation and trenches etc. ( for pipe and pits) up to all depths and in all kinds of soils such as pick work, pick jumper work, saturated soil including bailing or pumping out of water, blasting in soft/ hard rock, chiseling/wedging out of rock where blasting is prohibited, in all leads and lifts including trimming and dressing of sides, leveling of beds to correct grade including shoring, strutting, planking timbering wherever required, stacking usable and unusable materials/ soils separately and after laying, jointing and testing of pipes, returning the usable soils in 15 cm layers by ramming and watering and then disposing of all surplus excavated soil / unusable materials as directed within all leads and lifts including restoration of un-metalled surfaces to its original condition and including cost of diversion of traffic, night signal boards, fixing caution boards, crossing over trenches for access to houses, fencing etc. complete in all respects within all leads and lifts as per the direction of the Engineer-in-charge.

Laying jointing and testing in trenches ( to level or grade) of pipe jointed with joint butt welded of below mentioned diameter conforming to IS: 1239-2001 (latest upto date amendements) of grade and wall thickness as specified below, suitable to withstand required hydraulic test pressure in randum length 4m-6m with plain ends and jointed with MS flanges conforming to IS: 6392-1971 (latest upto date amendments) and welding of flanges as per IS: 816-1969 with electrodes as per IS: 814-1991 including required number and size of MS nuts and bolts as per IS: 1369-1967 and compressed asbestos fibre jointing gaskets sheet not less than 3.00mm in thickness as per IS: 2712-1998. The welding of flanges to be done on both faces in requisite layers to make the joints leak proof and to entire satisfaction of the Engineer-in-charge. The laying of pipes conform to IS: 5822-1994 and as per CPHEEO manual and will include all operations such as cutting, welding and jointing including flushing, cleaning and hydraulic testing complete in all respect. to the entire satisfaction of the Engineer-in-charge including entire carriage of materials upto all leads and lifts. PIpe will be measured in straight length only (earth work in trenches, flanges butt welded joint will be measured and paid for separately)
