The required prior work experience for the bidder is mentioned in terms of financial eligibility criteria, which states that the tenderer must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or 'V' whichever is less, where V = Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees and N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. The bidder must have successfully completed or substantially completed any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 07 years: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. The work experience can be from a government organization or a public listed company with an average annual turnover of Rs 500 crore and above. However, the work experience certificate from a private individual is not considered. Regarding similar works completed, "Similar Nature of work" includes "Any Transportation Work/ Civil Engineering Work/Track Work".
