The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. For works with an estimated project cost of 50 Crore and above, the bidder should have completed at least 3 similar works, each of a value of at least 30% of the estimated project cost, or two similar works, each of a value of at least 40% of the estimated project cost, or one similar work of a value of at least 50% of the estimated project cost. The bidder should also have experience in works such as Cement, Concrete, Masonry, Earth Works, and Bituminous Work. The bidder should have a minimum annual financial turnover, defined as billing for works in progress and completed in all classes of civil engineering construction works, of at least the annual value of the contract applied for in any one year over the last five years. The bidder should also provide information on the total value of civil engineering constructions performed in the last five years, as well as details of specific projects, including the value of the contract, date of issue of work order, stipulated period of completion, and actual date of completion. Additionally, the bidder should have sufficient experience to handle the work independently, and the engineer employed for the government work should have sufficient experience and should stay at the site of work. The required experience and qualifications for the site engineer vary depending on the cost of the work. The bidder is required to have a certain amount of liquid assets and/or availability of credit facilities, which is 25% of the Tender Amount. The bidder should also provide a list of key plant and equipment to be deployed on the contract work, as well as a list of key personnel to be deployed, including graduate and diploma civil engineers. The bidder is required to furnish performance security for an amount equivalent to 5% of the Contract Price.
