The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. The works may have been executed by the applicant as prime contractor or as a member of a joint venture or as a nominated sub-contractor. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed as on the date of submission. In terms of specific values, the bidder should have completed works of similar nature with a value of at least 40% of the proposed contract value. The bidder should also have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover in any one year, over the last five years of the annual value of contract/contracts applied for. The bidder should provide information on the quantities of work executed, including cement concrete, masonry, earthworks, and bituminous work, over the last five years. A certificate from the employer is required, incorporating clearly the name of the work, contract value, billing amount, date of commencement of works, satisfactory performance of the contractor, and any other relevant information for substantially completed works. The required percentage of similar works completed is at least 40% of the proposed contract value, and substantially completed works should be at least 90% completed. The bidder should have prior work experience of at least the last five years.
