The bidder is required to have prior work experience in civil engineering constructions, with a total value of work performed in the last five years. The bidder should have completed works of a similar nature over the last five years. The value of work performed in the last five years is mentioned in terms of Rs. Lakhs, but no specific amount is provided. However, the bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of the annual value of the contract/applied for in any one year, over the last five years. The bidder should have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90 percent completed as on the date of submission. In terms of similar works completed, the bidder's experience will be considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria. The lead partner of a joint venture must meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria, and the joint venture must collectively satisfy the criteria. The available bid capacity will be calculated based on the maximum value of work executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the year indicated, using the formula (A*N*2-B), where A is the maximum value of work executed, N is the number of years prescribed for completion of the works, and B is the value of existing commitments and ongoing works to be completed during the next period.
