The required prior work experience for the bidder is experience in similar work, although the exact number of years is not specified. The bidder should have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of similar work of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five financial years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90 percent completed as on the date of submission. Additionally, the contractor should have completed 60 percent of the quantity of principal items of work. The bidder should also have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover, defined as billing for works in progress and completed in all classes of civil engineering construction works only, in any one year, over the last five years, of the annual value of contract/contracts applied for. The bidder should have access to, or have available, liquid assets up to 25 percent of the value of the contract. The gross value of work done up to the last date of submission should be 90% or more of the original contract price for substantially completed works.
