The required prior work experience for the bidder involves completing similar works within the last 07 years, with specific value and percentage requirements. The bidder must have successfully completed or substantially completed any one of the following categories of work(s): - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, - One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. In the case of composite works, the requirements are: - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, - One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender. For subcontractors, the requirement is to have completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, no prior work experience is required for tenders having an advertised value up to Rs 50 lakh, and for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh. Additionally, each non-lead member of a joint venture must have satisfactorily completed or substantially completed during the last 07 years one similar single work for a minimum of 1/3 of the advertised value of the tender, or 1/3 of the cost of any component of work for composite works. The available bid capacity is also a factor, calculated using the formula: Available Bid Capacity = [A x N x 2] - 0.33xNxB, where A is the maximum value of construction works executed and payment received, and B is the existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works. The bidder's offer will not be considered if their available bid capacity is lesser than the estimated cost of work put to tender.
