The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having satisfactorily completed as a prime contractor or subcontractor at least one similar work of an agreement of value not less than 25% of the amount put to bid. This means the bidder should have completed a similar work with a value of at least 25% of the current bid amount. For example, if the bid amount is $100, then the bidder should have completed a similar work with a value of at least $25 (25% of $100). The experience certificates for similar work are considered for a period of five years before the last date of receipt of tender. Additionally, the bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of 50% of the amount put to bid, with at least 50% of this turnover being from civil engineering construction works, in any one year during the last five years. The turnover will be indexed at the rate of 8% per year. So, the required prior work experience includes completing a similar work with a value of at least 25% of the bid amount and achieving a minimum annual financial turnover of 50% of the bid amount, with 50% of it from civil engineering construction works.
