The required prior work experience for the bidder includes work of a similar nature performed as a prime contractor over the last five years. The bidder should have completed a value of similar work that is at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which should not be less than one-third of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The bidder should also have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The bidder is also required to provide information on the quantities of work executed as a prime contractor for all main items of work described in the bid document, in the last five years. A certificate of similar nature of work done, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge, is required. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. Relaxation in qualification criteria is provided for unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, with a minimum annual financial turnover of 25% of the DNIT in any one year, and exemption from single similar nature of work performed as a prime contractor. The bidder should have completed a single similar work with a value that can be verified through a credential certificate. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value.
