b) Valve to be removed from place and taken to workshop after removing hydraulic pipes, mountings etc. including dredge pipes. Valve to be dismantled and nose and buffer rings removed. Valve body in a way of nose and buffer rings to be calibrated and report submitted. Water boxes to be pressure tested to five kg. per cm.sq. Valve slide and spindle to be dismantled. Indicator spindle to be checked for trueness and mechanism to be overhauled. Water gland seal for valve spindle to be repaired or renewed. Flushing water space to be cleaned and painted with Apexior-3. Nose & buffer rings (ship supply) to be renewed and valve assembled
back with yard supply packings. Valve to be tried out hydraulically by hand pump to the satisfaction of ship staff. Valve body to be chipped and painted with one coat each of epoxy primer and enamel green. Valve to be taken on board and refitted in place with new yard supply joints, bolts & nuts. Valve to be shown in working condition. All pipelines to be assembled back and any leakages from pipelines to be rectified Valve to be shown in working condition.
