Identifying Innovative Solutions To Promote Adoption Of Sustainable Agriculture Practices And Value Chains For Farmers’ Organizations In Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh And Odisha Under Gcp/ind/184/gef & The Objective Of The Proposed Service Contract Is To Obtain Specific Services On “identifying Innovative Solutions To Promote Adoption Of Sustainable Agriculture Practices And Value Chains For Farmers’ Organizations In The States Of Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh And Odisha In India Within The Framework Of The Project- “gcp/ind/184/gff - Promotion Of Sustainable Food Systems In India Through Transforming Rice-wheat Systems” Under The Food System Land Use And Restoration (folur) Impact Program Funded By The Global Environment Facility (gef 7 Cycle). The Proposal Seeks Partnerships With Civil Society Organizations (csos), Private Sector Companies, And Social Entrepreneurs, And Their Consortium, Etc. That Have Developed Innovative Solutions, Models, Which Align With The Overall Project Objectives And Are Willing To Develop A Sustainable And Scalable Field Program To Be Delivered In At Least One Project State In Line With The Vision Of The Project. The Project Also Seeks These Partners To Invest Resources (experiences From On-going Projects, Network With Value Chain Actors, Financial Agencies, Co-financing Potential, Among Others) In Skills And Knowledge Transfer, Creating Green Value-chains, And Enhancing Livelihood Among Target Farmers To Foster Sustainable Agriculture Practices. The Assignment Will Cover Costs For Farmers’ Learning And Support Rolling Out Of These Innovative, Participatory Pro-poor Models Of Farmer Support Through Farmer Support Mechanisms Such As Farmer Field Schools (ffs), Demonstrations, Development Of Grassroot Level Extension Systems, Etc. In Addition To Overseeing And Monitoring The Field Activities. The Activities Will Also Focus On Strengthening Capacities Of Farmer Organizations To Sustain A Collective Transformation Of Agrifood System Away From High Input-based Production Systems Toward Practices That Restore The Depleted Natural Resources Base Including Ground Water And Degraded Watersheds And To Reduce Air And Water Pollution As Well As Destructive Agriculture Production Practices. The Learnings From These Initial Participatory Farmer Support Mechanisms Will Inform The Expansion Strategy To Reach Out To Other Targeted Farmers Under The Project. The Trainers And Farmers Reached Via This Work Will Be Considered Master Trainers And May Act As Model Farmers For Later Scaling Up.
