The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing certain categories of work(s) during the last 07 years. For a single work, the bidder must have completed: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, or (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. In the case of composite works, the tenderer must have successfully completed or substantially completed: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, or (iii) One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender. For subletting of work, the subcontractor must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of the subcontractor is required. The value of similar work should be at least 35% of the value of the work to be subletted. For example, if the work to be subletted is Rs 100, the similar work should be at least Rs 35. Substantially completed work is defined as work where payment equal to or more than 90% of the present contract value (excluding the payment made for adjustment of Price variation) has been made to the contractor. The total gross amount already paid, including the PVC amount, shall be considered as the cost of substantially completed work. A bidder who has successfully completed a work as a subcontractor, with a work experience certificate issued by a Government Organization or public listed company, shall also be considered for the purpose of fulfillment of credentials. The percentage of similar works completed is 90% of the present contract value for substantially completed work.
