Providing water proofing treatment to the old terrace slab / mumty roof etc
i) Clean the cementitious surface using wire brush and edge grinding machine to remove any dusts, dirts, laitance and ensure the surface to be smooth, dry free from moisture (less than 8%) all in complete. Any right angle corner will be champhered (12-15 mm) mechanically followed by repairing the same will be done using polymer mortar in 1:4 ratio (cement: sand) admixed with Pidicrete URP or equivalent @ 2-3% by weight of cement or as recommended by the manufacturer. ii) Providing and applying single coat of moisture insensitive PU primer by brush/roller (as per manufacturer’s specification), as priming coat, over the prepared dry RCC surface. The primer should conform specific gravity 1.02-1.15, with shore D hardness of minimum 35, and pull of adhesion of minimum 1 MPa
iii) Providing and applying, high performance, pure polyurethane based, single component, elastomeric anti root, seamless, waterproof membrane, applied in 2-3 coats over one coat of primer to achieve a DFT of 1.5 mm on the horizontal and on the vertical surface up to minimum 300 mm above FFL. The w/p membrane should have an elongation capacity of over 400% as per ASTM D 412/ DIN 52455, tensile strength of 4-6 N/mm2 a per ASTM D 412 / DIN 52455, water vapor permeability- 14 gm/m2 per day conforming ISO 9932.91, Soild content – 90% as per ASTM C 836, & root resistant property conforming EN13948, For garden area /planters the coating will be continued till 100 mm above soil filling level, all in complete
