Chipping/ Removing (RCC): Removing/chipping upto 25 mm average depth and cleaning of existing loose concrete carefully by manual or low impact frequency hammer without damaging the existing concrete including cleaning the surfaces by compressed air jet complete including removing loose concrete around the reinforcement. The debris will be disposed in the place demarked by Engineer in Charge within the Plant Campus. The entire surface will be checked by light hammering (using 1 Kg hammer) for detection of loose concrete. Edges of chipped patch will bear vertical/reverse cut with minimum depth at edges as 10 mm. (Prepared patches to be got checked before applying bond coat). All loose/sound concrete around corroded bars has to be removed to prepare well defined patch.

Derusting/Cleaning of Reinforcement (RCC) : Cleaning of reinforcement of total rust including from behind the reinforcing bars to give it totally rust free finished steel surface, by manual methods and using approved alkaline chemical rust remover (STP/BASF/SIKA/Fosroc/Krishna Conchem/Pidilite/CICO as per Specifications) as per approved FQP with paint brush and removing loose particles after 24 hours of its application with wire brush and thoroughly washing with water and allowing it to dry. Polymer Modified Mortar (RCC) :Polymer Modified Mortar for Cracked & Spalled Portions: Supplying & applying the PMM to build the profile of structural members upto 25 mm average depth by using emulsified SBR latex (STP/BASF/SIKA/Fosroc or Equivalent) conforming to ASTM C-1059-13 Type-II in damaged areas (1 Cement-3 part coarse graded sand + 20 % latex by weight of cement) with 0.35 w/c ratio, in 15-20 mm thick layers by applying bond coat between successive/each layers including levelling & profiling complete as per directions and approval of Engineer-In-Charge. For measurement, patch area of repair work will be taken. This item includes the cost of bonding agent to be applied in between the layers of repair mortar. Cement used shall satisfy requirements of approved brand and grade by EIC.
