The required prior work experience for the bidder is defined in terms of average annual contractual turnover, which must be a minimum of V/N or 'V' whichever is less. Here, V represents the advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees, and N represents the number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. The average annual contractual turnover is calculated as an average of "total contractual payments" in the previous three financial years, based on the audited balance sheet. In terms of similar work experience, the bidder must have successfully completed or substantially completed specific categories of work during the last 07 years. These categories include: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. A substantially completed work is defined as an ongoing work where payment equal to or more than 90% of the present contract value has been made to the contractor. Similar work is defined as any Civil Engineering work.
